Here’s a simple studio set with Romanian glamour model Georgiana.

I regularly receive emails from photographers asking advice about photographing their wives, girlfriends or models. This is the kind of shoot anyone could do – just a bed, a model and a couple of studio flash lights.

The main light was a beauty dish, as it gives a somewhat edgier quality of light than a softbox. I set the beauty dish behind the bed, to try to replicate light coming in through a bedroom window. A softbox was brought in towards the front in to add just a small bit of fill light, but not too much. I wanted shadows. See the lighting setup diagram below.

I really enjoy this type of photography – a mix of glamour and boudoir.
